I braved leaving 80 degree weather to fly to Peoria on Feb. 13th,
where it was in single digits! It was all worth it because Drew, Kayley
and Ryan kept Grandma warm and happy!
I watched them
have a swimming lesson, play a basketball game and just general fun
times playing with them. Ryan is such a delight and such a clown. He
kept me laughing. Kayley and Drew are growing quickly. Kayley read to
me several times and has really improved. Drew is also doing very, very
well in school. As a retired teacher, this makes me happy!
I flew back to AZ on February 18th. It was hard to leave them BUT those 80 degrees waiting for me felt pretty darned good!
Mark and I took what is becoming an annual winter mini-trip to Laughlin. We spent three nights at the Golden Nugget. The weather was picture perfect and we had a great time. Took lots of walks along the beautiful Colorado River and ate nightly at awesome restaurants. The slots were rather stingy, as usual, but that didn't dampen our fun. :-)
Along the CO river
Beautiful views
Our favorite fish joint!
Nice way to go between Casinos, but we actually walked.
Mark and I decided to make a change in our back yard in AZ. I always
have to plant the winter grass every October when I arrive, which
involves lots of bag hauling by me. He is still at home riding in a
tractor during this ordeal while I am slaving hauling dirt by hand.
:-) So, we decided to put in a putting green and we just love it! The
back yard looks so much better, I can hardly believe the
transformation! Plus, we are going to become awesome putters. Ha ha!
Until I have grandchildren pics to post (soon!!!), these will have to do...
